Steve, thank you. Amazingly poignant and spot on. I have fought the good fight, and only hope and believe that I have made several dents in the world... but the world doesn't always signal back... Keep doing what you do.
Even though I believe we have agency, I have long observed that almost everyone, in their own way, tries to change their life for the better. And if someone can't, the explanation is fate. The mind needs an explanation, any explanation will do, as that explanation is better than the lack of an answer, and the uncertainty of the future.
Thank you for re-sharing this, Steve. Love the quote from one of all-time my favorite Jackson Browne songs & albums. Listened to it over & over since high school. Thanks for your chart, an interesting take on Maslow. Thanks also for reminding me of something my loving but deceased mom used to say with me: This isn’t a dress rehearsal. Really appreciate you!
"Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity."
(Ecclesiastes 1:2, King James Version)
Who can say that the grocer who had a son and raised him well did not generate, after 100, 200 years, a "dent in the universe" more significant than the creator of an app?
Great thoughts and experiences. I'm going to share with my kids, associates, customers and students.
Thanks, this is Great Inspiration.
Thanks for this Steve. Very timely and inspiring

You are the master of your own fate and the only person in control of your life is you.

Very nice Steve. What was that USAF nickname though?
